It's been quite the adventure since starting my photography business about a year ago. What started as a hobby has developed into a lifestyle and an outlet for me to express my artistic perspective on the world. My photography has been focused primarily on landscapes, capturing rural Pennsylvania to the Grand Tetons and Rocky Mountains out West.
Recently however, I've been attempting to refocus my photography and experiment with portraiture as I expressed in my last blog post, The Next Chapter. As I finished up this semester, I was all over Centre County trying to find new locations that I could capture my subjects. This photographic 'adventure' has and continues to fuel my love for photography, and I have this desire to capture our world from a new perspective.
So once again, I asked my friend Rachel to come out and help me frame my portraits and pose my subjects in all different locations. She is sort of an expert when it comes to this modeling thing because she's been a model for her sister Erika's photography since before I met her. Naturally, she has become my prime subject, and each time we go out I learn something new. This past time, we could not have asked for a more perfect day. The light was incredible, highlighting her hair and facial features, and we took full advantage of the blossoming flowers on this Spring afternoon as well.
All in all, it was a phenomenal day and I can't thank her enough for helping me capture some of these incredible shots.
In that regard, I would like to dedicate this post to Rachel for her help, and even moreso because it is her 21st Birthday in less than 24 hours! Rachel has been my best friend since high school, and I truly hope she has a terrific birthday because she is an incredible individual and one of the most supporting friends I have ever had. So thank you Rae, I hope your 21st is everything you've been waiting for, and I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I do!
Happy Birthday Rae!
